Hanno Busch

Cologne based guitar player Hanno Busch is an exciting as well as inspiring musician. Hard to imagine anyone in the european music scene more suited to combine a very own recognizable style and an inimitable yet developing sound with flexibility and inquisitiveness, which lets him merge even seemingly contradicting points on a musical map.

He started his way at the Amsterdam School of the Arts and took off succesfully on several terrains. Not only did he tour with and work in the studio for well-established or hot young jazz musicians, amongst them Peter Weniger, the NDR Big Band feat. Bobby McFerrin, Niels Klein - "Tubes & Wires", Peter Herbolzheimer's "Rhythm Combination & Brass", [re:jazz], Michael Wollny’s Wunderkammer or Jesse Milliner, but also german rock'n'roll legend Peter Kraus, pop star Sasha and the intellectual indie high achiever Peter Licht. Also he is a member of the "heavytones", studio band of germany’s most famous late night show "TV Total“ hosted by Stefan Raab.
Not least it was encounters with Michael Wollny and Tamar Halperin, who he played with at Jazz Baltica, 2010, that lead Hanno Busch to live out his creativity more intensively in his own projects.

This is how "Sommerplatte" came to life, a project that Busch writes songs for together with keyboard player Tobias Philippen, as well as the Hanno Busch Trio, consisting of top class players Claus Fischer and Jonas Burgwinkel. „Sommerplatte"'s debut album was released september 2013. The Hanno Busch Trio presented their debut album "Absent" at the Jazz Festival Viersen in September 2014.
